Home security at CES 2025: smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
Let’s start with the announcement from Ring and Kidde. The two companies introduce new intelligent smoke and carbon monoxide detectors with integrated Ring technology. They guarantee real-time alerts via the Ring app when unsafe levels are detected.

Customers will be able to opt for professional monitoring at a cost of $5 per month, required for subscribing to the Ring 24/7 Smoke & CO Monitoring service. It should be noted that the new Wi-Fi-connected sensors do not require a Ring Alarm or hub to operate. Furthermore, the detection technology has been significantly improved. Amazon reveals that it is 25% faster and three times more accurate.
For now, there is no news about the sensor’s arrival in Europe. Amazon states that the modules will only be available at The Home Depot in the United States from next April. It is already possible to register on the Ring website to be notified when the product becomes available for purchase.

The central role of Ring Vision has been confirmed. The technology combines specific software, advanced hardware, and the company’s internal expertise to ensure:
- optimal color
- balance improved
- contrast smoother motion.
The implementation of the new technology has already begun. Customers will be able to upgrade their cameras to the new resolution, at no additional cost, through the Ring app.
